IT’S TIME FOR A LOVE AFFAIR:
HE’S THE KING OF HEARTS
We all know February as Heart month specifically because Valentine’s Day falls on February 14. And as such so called “love is in the air”. I had been down with a cold that has kept me physically weak and tired. Laying on the couch resting after a nap, I was scrolling the TV guide when I came upon a Christian show that was strictly about praise and worship. As I watched these four people minister in music, suddenly I felt compelled to get up and dance and worship the Lord. There I was, being “my old self”, twirling and dancing completely abandoned to God. The more they sang and worshipped, the more I sang and worshipped. Oh how I felt such love toward the Father. It was this amazing love that I poured out on Him. And then I knew that it was a word for February not realizing yet that February is Heart month and it’s all about love.
This is a month to draw near to the Lord in worship and great praise. Sing unto the Lord songs of love. Think about songs like: “I can sing of your love forever”, “Your love never fails”, and the lyrics to “You are Good” say “And I sing because You are good and I dance because You are good and I shout because You are good, You are good to me”. Read the lyrics to the song, “King of My Heart”:
“Let the King of my heart be the mountain where I run, the fountain I drink from, Oh, He is my song. Let the King of my heart be the shadow where I hide, the ransom for my life, Oh He is my song. You are good, good, Oh oh.
Let the King of my heart be the wind inside my sails, the anchor in the waves, Oh He is my song.

But wait and pay attention to these lyrics to an old hymn titled,
“The Love of God”.
The love of God is greater far than tongue or pen can ever tell; it goes beyond the highest star and reaches to the lowest hell.
Oh love of God, how rich and pure! How measureless and strong! It shall forever endure – the saints’ and angels’ song.
Could we with ink the ocean fill, and were the skies of parchment made; Were every stalk on earth a quill, and every man a scribe by trade.
To write the love of God above would drain the ocean dry. Nor could the scroll contain the whole, though stretched from sky to sky.
The poetry of this hymn is stunning. How great the love of God is toward us such that would drain the ocean dry.
So I believe the Lord is saying to each of us:
I AM drawing you with cords of love into my sacred chamber. Rest your head upon My heart. Feel the intensity of my love for you. Expend all that you are for Me. I AM your real Valentine. My love is unconditional and supersedes all that you can possibly know or understand. Spend this month pouring out your love and adoration on Me. Be like the woman with the alabaster box who broke open the special fragrant oil and anointed My feet with oil.
IT’S TIME TO FALL IN LOVE WITH THE KING OF HEARTS!!!
