Hope For Your Heart

Psalm 57: 6-10

They have prepared a net for my steps;

My soul is bowed down;

They have dug a pit for me;

Into the midst of it they themselves have fallen. Selah

My heart is steadfast, O God,

my heart is steadfast;

I will sing and give praise…

I will praise You, O Lord, among the peoples;

I will sing to You among the nations.

For Your mercy reaches unto the heavens,

And Your truth unto the clouds.

David wrote this psalm when he fled from Saul into the cave.  He was experiencing

tribulation.  Even in the midst of his enemy Saul and those seeking David’s life, he says his heart is steadfast.  No wavering here.  Even though they had dug a pit for David, they ended up in it themselves.  David is totally comforted by the fact that God has his back.  He says I’m going to praise you God and I gonna sing too.  David realizes that God’s mercy is vast; it reaches to the heavens.  In many psalms David talks about loving God’s truth.

You may be experiencing people who have come against you.   In some cases people just want to see you fail or falter.  But David has given you a secret.  You can remain steadfast.  Just sing and praise the Lord!  Don’t speak out against them.  Let God handle them.  He will do better job of it.  Let your heart remain steadfast – no matter what!!
